Boston for Congo (BFC) is a Massachusetts-based organization founded in April, 2014. We pursue effective activism with students, members of the diaspora, academia, and other concerned citizens of New England. Our goal is to contribute to sustainable peace and development in the Democratic Republic of Congo ("Congo"). We offer concrete opportunities to make a lasting, positive impact on the war-torn region, including organizing lobbying visits, symposiums, social media campaigns, and strategic planning with partner organizations.
BFC focuses its efforts in the legislative and academic hub of Boston through civic engagement, campus activism, policy analysis, social media campaigns, and cross-sectoral research. Our leadership consists of young professionals with diverse experience and backgrounds in issues of peace and conflict, foreign affairs, advocacy, and public policy. We engage and act with individuals and organizations across the United States and central Africa to improve our effectiveness in the dissemination of information and actions on campus resolutions, state legislation, and international activism. BFC continually seeks partnerships in the public and private sector from individuals representing the for- and non-profit realm. Please contact us with requests to speak, collaborate, intern, or otherwise further the common goal of greater peace and development in Congo and the wider Great Lakes Region of Africa.
